2024 Will Be a Year of War, Says Israeli Army

2024 will be a "year of military operations" for Israel, stated Israeli Defense Forces spokesperson Daniel Hagarin during a press briefing.

“2024 will be a year of war, and there are now lessons learned that will allow us to fight better on all fronts,” he said.

The situation in the Middle East sharply deteriorated on October 7, 2023, following an incursion by Hamas militants into Israeli territory from the Gaza Strip, which was accompanied by the killing of residents in border communities and the abduction of over 240 hostages, including children, the elderly, and women. The radicals referred to this attack as a response to Israeli authorities' actions against Jerusalem's Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Israel declared a complete blockade of the Gaza Strip and began retaliatory strikes towards certain areas in Lebanon and Syria, after which it announced the initiation of ground operations in the enclave. Clashes are also taking place in the West Bank of Jordan.
