Iran-backed Shia Movement Leader Killed in US Strike in Iraq
The US military has carried out an airstrike in Baghdad, resulting in the death of a commander from the Iran-aligned Shia movement "Hezbollah al-Nujaba." This was reported by TASS.
It is noted that the strike targeted a vehicle. The name of the commander has not been disclosed. Another person was also killed in the attack. According to agency information, US authorities believe that the movement had previously attacked American forces stationed in Iraq.
Earlier reports indicated that a drone strike in the Iraqi capital had resulted in the death of another commander from "Hezbollah al-Nujaba," with at least six others wounded. The deceased was known as Abu Taqwa, who commanded the movement's 12th brigade and was also a supporter of the Iraqi Shia militia al-Hashd al-Shaabi.
