11 Representatives of Armenia Included in FIDE's Top 100 Ranking
The World Chess Federation has released its updated top 100 ranking, which includes six Armenian chess players. This information was reported by Sputnik Armenia.
In the men's category, grandmasters Haik Martirosyan, Gabriel Sargsyan, and Samvel Ter-Sahakyan secured the 55th, 61st, and 91st places, respectively. Additionally, another Armenian grandmaster, Karen Grigoryan, who is not part of the national team, occupies the 99th position.
In the women's ranking, three Armenian representatives have made the cut: Elina Danielyan (55th), Lilit Mkrtchyan (74th), and Anna Sargsyan (75th).
Among young chess players, international master Mamikon Garibyan is ranked 41st, while Emin Ohanyan has placed 79th; notably, he was awarded the grandmaster title at the end of 2023. For young female players, Mariam Mkrtchyan stands at the 12th position and Polina Kobak is in the 83rd place.
