Ukraine Seeks Urgent Meeting with Allies
The Prime Minister of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal, has announced an "exceptionally high level of uncertainty" regarding the 2024 budget. He has requested an urgent meeting with allies.
Shmyhal sent a corresponding letter to the coordinators of the G7 countries, which oversee the allocation of funds to Ukraine, as reported by Bloomberg, citing the document. It states that funding is needed as early as next month and should be directed towards Ukraine's "urgent budgetary needs." In this regard, Shmyhal refers to ensuring "the continuity of government operations, paying salaries to teachers and civil servants, as well as pension payments," according to UNIAN.
According to Shmyhal, donors should hold an emergency meeting.
