Surene Shahverdyan Appointed Acting Director of Stanislavsky Theatre
The Stanislavsky Russian Dramatic Theatre has a new acting director. The information was announced by the theatre's press service.
The new acting director of the theatre is director Surene Shahverdyan. He was introduced to the collective of the K. Stanislavsky Russian State Dramatic Theatre in Yerevan by Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport, Daniel Danielyan.
The appointment is effective for six months, after which, according to the law, a competition will be announced for the vacant director's position.
It is noteworthy that since 2019, the director's position at the K. Stanislavsky Russian Dramatic Theatre has been held by Marianna Mkrtchyan, the director of the ArmMono International Theatre Festival and an actress. She recently submitted her resignation.
Mkrtchyan will continue to work in the theatre as an advisor to the director.
Since 2002, she has been hosting the program “They Didn't Expect” on the Armenian Second TV Channel, and since 2012, she has also hosted the program “The Hungry Were Waiting.”
