The seizure of Russian assets abroad is illegal and carries serious harmful consequences, and it will be another blow to the global economy. This was stated by Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the President of Russia. The information was reported by RIA Novosti.
“Such actions are fraught with very serious consequences,” Peskov told reporters in response to a question about whether Russia could seize foreign assets.
On Thursday, the Financial Times, citing its sources, reported that Germany, France, Italy, and the EU have expressed doubts about the idea of the U.S. seizing Russia's $300 billion in frozen assets, emphasizing the need to thoroughly assess the legality of such a measure.
