Sanosyan Responds to Azerbaijan's Statements on the Return of 8 Villages

During a press conference, Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures Gnel Sanosyan mentioned that various international organizations, particularly banking donor partners in Armenia, have shown significant interest in the "Peace Corridor" program.

"In our discussions, they are trying to indicate their interest, and if there is a need for construction or other processes in certain parts of this program, they would be happy to be involved," said Sanosyan. "So, the signals are quite positive."

Addressing Azerbaijan's statements regarding the return of 8 villages, the minister noted, "We have spoken about this many times. There are certain areas that Azerbaijan indicates and areas that Armenia discusses. The process can now be organized in such a way that these areas are defined, their legal bases need to be established, and then there will be two processes: one is the exchange and the other is physically leaving, with specific spatial arrangements in place. I mean that these areas have certain communal characteristics, and phenomena known as delimitation and demarcation can provide answers to this issue. In my view, this question can be addressed within the framework of the working group when the delimitation and demarcation of borders occurs."

It should be noted that earlier, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov stated that discussions regarding the 8 villages have taken place.
