Nikol Pashinyan Has Never Said That 'Red Lines' Should Not Exist: Avinyan
Nikol Pashinyan has never said that 'red lines' should not exist. This was stated today, December 29, during a final press conference by Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan.
“Yerevan needs to be decongested because the number of vehicles in Yerevan is increasing year by year, and this city is not made of rubber; we cannot keep stretching and accommodating all the cars. Therefore, we need to come up with measures to reduce the number of cars. For this reason, we are first developing the public transportation system, increasing bus routes, partly through red lines, and also limiting the movement of individual vehicles,” he said.
The Mayor also added that the decision to raise the annual fee for parking in the center of Yerevan from 12,000 to 160,000 was made in accordance with this logic.
