Magnus Carlsen Becomes Rapid Chess World Champion for the 5th Time
Former World Champion in classical chess Magnus Carlsen has won the Rapid Chess World Championship for the 5th time. According to Armenpress, after 13 rounds of the championship held in Uzbekistan, Carlsen gathered 10 points and claimed the title of world champion for a fifth time.
Among the Armenian chess players, Shant Sarkisyan finished 43rd with 8 points, while Tigran Petrosyan placed 48th with 7.5 points.
