Wildberries to Allow Cancellation of Orders Immediately After Placement: Details
In January 2024, Wildberries will introduce the option to cancel an order immediately after it is placed. This will assist customers who accidentally place an order, select the wrong address, or choose more items than intended. The option will be available on the website and mobile app.
This was announced by the market's press service, as reported by TASS.
"Wildberries customers will be able to cancel their order immediately after placing it; this will help if the buyer accidentally places an order, selects the wrong address, or chooses more items than planned. The option will be launched in January," the statement said.
In the first phase, it will be available to customers who purchase goods on a cash-on-delivery basis, of which Wildberries has more than 80%. Later, the cancellation option via a button will be accessible to all customers, the company noted.
It is reported that cancellations will be possible within the first hour after the order is placed, or until the seller begins gathering the item, depending on which event occurs first. The update is expected to be implemented in January. Buyers will see it in the 'Delivery' section next to the product card.
Initially, the order cancellation option will not be available for all products; only sellers who have the items in their warehouses will participate in the testing. After some time, the function will work for any product. If it is not possible to cancel the delivery through the button, it can still be rejected at the order acceptance point or returned in accordance with the site’s rules.
