Discussions Held on Eight Villages: Bayramov
Discussions have been held regarding eight villages. This was announced by Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov.
"The issue of the return of eight villages is raised at every meeting between Azerbaijan and Armenia. We believe this is related to delimitation, and as you know, the issue of delimitation is a technical matter. The general principles are reflected in the peace agreement. It concerns specific residential areas. But if we want the peace agreement to be signed as soon as possible, we need to separate these two processes. These eight villages have their own characteristics; four of them are enclaves, while the other four are non-enclave villages. Our approach is that the process can have some consistency and continue in the form of mutual discussions. Armenia also has its claims and views regarding the borders. But we are talking about settlements. The ownership of those villages is not a subject of dispute. It is clear who lived in those villages during the Soviet period," Bayramov stated.
