The city's mayor, Jaime Pumarejo, mentioned on social media that the singer "has a creative heart, curves that do not lie, talent that is unmatched, and a voice that moves the masses."

Shakira herself expressed her gratitude on social media, thanking him for the example of the immense artistic talent of the residents of her homeland.
