Drugs Concealed in Mashed Potatoes Transferred to Prison

Employees from the operational department of the "Nubarashen" penitentiary of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia, acting on previously received operational information, conducted a search on December 25 at 12:00 PM of a package brought by the citizen S.H. for the detained person D.K.

During the inspection, the officers discovered crystal-like substances resembling narcotics within the mashed potatoes present in the package. Later, around 1:00 PM, the same department’s officers, again acting on operational information, conducted a search with guards from the security department on the citizen A.Y., who had come for a short visit to the detained person A.S.

As a result, a rubber package was discovered inside his sock, which contained 77 white, intact tablets with the inscription AN627, fragments of the same tablets, as well as 1.6 grams of a light brown powdery substance resembling narcotics. The citizens were arrested by the personnel of the "Nubarashen" penitentiary and presented along with the seized items to the Investigative Department for the Erebuni and Nubarashen administrative districts of the RA Investigative Committee.
