Yerevan's Chief Architect Position to Be Cut: New Decision

The Yerevan Council has adopted a decision to change the structure and staffing of municipal departments. The changes are aimed at merging or reducing certain structural subdivisions, redistributing functions, and optimizing positions wherever possible, with some new positions possibly being added.

Operational positions with fewer than 20 staff members will be reduced. It has been proposed to establish 15 additional positions for consultants to implement specific functions, considering that there is often a need to involve specialists with narrow professional education during the implementation phase of projects.

Thus, the existing 5 structural units of consultants will increase by an additional 15 positions. These 15 consultants are expected to be more intensively involved in carrying out functions that require specialized education, experience, and skills.

Moreover, the positions of Yerevan's Chief Architect and their assistant will be cut, given that a previously adopted law has already eliminated the requirement for the mandatory presence of an architect.
