"The Opposition Has All the Levers to Block the Adoption of the Decision": Yeritsyan

Grigori Yeritsyan, a member of Yerevan's City Council from the 'National Progress' faction, has stated that if the decision regarding parking fees is adopted, both the government and the opposition will bear responsibility for it.

"The residents of Yerevan have given 33 mandates to the opposition forces, and today the opposition has all the levers to block the adoption of this decision. Those opposition factions that support this decision will bear the same responsibility as you do," he said, adding that they will not support this decision and will not register for the vote.

Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan also responded, stating that the decision pertains not only to parking but also to all rental fees. "Yes, you are correct; otherwise, the political responsibility for the cancellation of all these local fees, the non-collection of the budget, and the failure of programs will rest on those who organize all of this," he emphasized.

The head of the City Council's 'National Progress' faction, Aram Torosyan, also proposed to separate the issue of parking fees from the draft and discuss it separately, while the proposal regarding other fees should be presented for voting at an extraordinary session of the City Council.
