Road Conditions in Armenia and Lars

The Rescue Service informs that there are closed and difficult-to-navigate roads in the territory of Armenia.

The roads from the "Amberd" high mountain meteorological station to the Amberd fortress and the Kar lake are closed in the Aragatsotn Province. The Vardenyats Pass is experiencing heavy snow, and the Berd-Chambarak road is closed to all types of vehicles. The twists near Spitak are closed to trucks due to black ice.

The beginning of the Tsilkar-Spitak twists (snowstorm), Alagyaz-Artik (snowstorm), and the Jrarber-Fantan roads are difficult to navigate for all types of vehicles. In the Tigranashen twists, Tatev-Ltsen, Goris-Sisian, Ara village-Boujakan, as well as the roads leading to Abovian, Aparan, Aragats, Talin areas, and the city of Jermuk, there are spots of black ice.

There is heavy snowfall in the towns of Chambarak and the village of Shinhuyr. According to information received from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia's Emergency Situations Department and the Crisis Management Center of Russia's Ministry of Emergency Situations for North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is closed to all types of vehicles.

Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires.
