New Details on the Russian Warship Destroyed in Crimea
New details have emerged following the explosion in the port of Feodosia, where the Ukrainian side claims the Russian amphibious assault ship Novocheboksarsk was destroyed. According to initial data, the area affected by the fire exceeded 1,000 square meters. More than 350 people were forced to evacuate due to the strong explosion, which shattered windows in buildings' entrances and apartments.
Izvestia reports that the railway station building was damaged during the attack. Baza has noted that the explosion was so powerful that windows were broken in nearby homes. The 'Crimean Railway' Telegram channel states that trains from Feodosia to Djankoy will depart from the Aivazovskaya station. Additionally, public transportation has been temporarily suspended on two streets in Feodosia.
As a result of the Ukrainian armed forces' attack in Feodosia, one person has been killed, and two others injured, with infrastructure also damaged, according to the head of Crimea, Sergey Aksyonov. Aksyonov also reported that six buildings were damaged, and windows were broken.
Currently, six residents have been evacuated to temporary accommodation centers, while others have found shelter with relatives and friends. Aksyonov stated that transportation infrastructure is operating as usual, with no restrictions on passenger transport.
The attack on Feodosia resulted in damage to the Novocheboksarsk large amphibious ship. This was confirmed by the Russian Ministry of Defense, which stated that the strikes by the Ukrainian Armed Forces were carried out using guided missiles. The Russian Defense Ministry also announced the destruction of two Ukrainian aircraft that launched missiles towards Feodosia.
