Medvedev: Russia Will Strike Foreign Military Bases in Ukraine If They Are Established

The Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, Dmitry Medvedev, has stated that the Russian army will target foreign military bases in Ukraine if they are created. He made the comments on Telegram regarding the EU's draft declaration on security guarantees for Ukraine.

Medvedev emphasized that the document allows Kyiv to enter into agreements with countries on arms supplies, military training, financing of military projects, as well as the establishment of military bases. “When Russia strikes such a base (and this will inevitably happen, as the military personnel of the base has specifically arrived to fight against us), will the countries of the alliance be ready to collectively respond to our country for the destruction of the created base?” Medvedev wrote.

Additionally, the deputy chairman referred to the European Union's statement on security guarantees for Ukraine as a dirty letter.
