Snow, Blizzard, Black Ice: Road Conditions

The Emergency Situations Service reports that there are closed and difficult-to-navigate roads in the territory of Armenia.

Closed roads include those from the 'Amberd' high-altitude meteorological station in the Aragatsotn region to the Amberd Fortress and the K’ari Lake. The Vardenyats Pass is closed to articulated trucks (due to blizzard and snow) and difficult to pass for other vehicles.

The Spitak bends, Ijevan-Berd, and Saravan-'Zanger' roads are closed to articulated trucks (black ice). The Voskepar and Dilijan bends, as well as the Dilijan-Vanadzor road, are closed for cargo trucks. The roads leading to Mets Mantash-Aragats, Berd-Jambarak, and the village of Gorayk (also from the Jermuk intersection) are completely closed to all types of vehicles.

The Alagyaz-Artik and Mets Mantash-Artik roads (due to blizzard) are difficult for all types of vehicles.

In the section of Sisian-'Zanger', Tatev-Ltsen, Goris-Sisian, as well as the roads leading to Abovyan, Aparan, Aragats, and Talin regions, there are patches of black ice near Jermuk city, Spitak, Stepanavan, and Vanadzor.

In the Syunik region, snow is reported in Jermuk, Hrazdan, Gavar, Sevan, Jambarak, and Berd cities, as well as in Aparan, Aragats, and Talin regions (due to blizzard).

Blizzard conditions are also affecting the Tigranashen bends, the Saravan-'Zanger' section, as well as the regions of Gyumri, Akhuryan, Ashotsk, and Amasia, alongside Gavar, Sevan, Jambarak cities, Shinishahr, and Gorayk villages.

Regarding Larsi: According to information from the Emergency Situations Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia's North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Larsi road is closed for all types of vehicles. Drivers are advised to travel exclusively on winter tires.
