How Much Does the Indian Akash Air Defense System Cost That Armenia Could Purchase
It is expected that a single Akash air defense system that Armenia may acquire will cost less than $500,000. This was reported by ETV Bharat.
Earlier, Indian media had stated that Armenia could purchase short-range Akash air defense systems from India.
The system can simultaneously target multiple threats in either group or autonomous mode. It features built-in electronic counter-countermeasures (ECCM) capabilities. The entire weapon system is mounted on mobile platforms.
It is capable of effectively engaging helicopters, fighter jets, and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) operating within a range of 4 to 25 kilometers. The system is fully automated, quickly detecting and destroying targets.
It exhibits high resistance to both active and passive interference. It can be transported rapidly, as well as be quickly deployed.
With its ability to engage multiple targets and destroy maneuvering threats such as UAVs, cruise missiles, and missiles fired from helicopters, the Akash system ideally meets Yerevan's air defense needs.
It is anticipated that supplies of the Indian Akash air defense system to Armenia will commence in a few months.
