Armenia Has Made a Clear Decision to Change Its Foreign Policy and Move Away from Moscow: NATO Representative

The NATO Secretary General's Special Representative for the South Caucasus and Central Asia, Javier Colomina, has stated that Armenia has made a "clear decision to change its foreign policy and move away from Moscow."

"We welcome this. The citizens of Armenia have the right to make decisions independently. In my opinion, Armenia is already starting to come closer to us. They are demanding more cooperation, more political dialogue with NATO. We welcome our partners' decisions, which apparently contribute to the stabilization of the region," Colomina said in an interview with Georgia's First Channel.

The NATO representative also spoke about support for the process of normalizing relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, which he said is fundamentally important for maintaining stability in the Caucasus. "We have provided significant support for the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan. We support the efforts aimed at normalizing relations through the EU, the U.S., as well as through bilateral formats between Armenia and Azerbaijan. It is truly fundamental for us to maintain stability in the Caucasus region," he remarked.
