Appeal Against Vagif Khachatryan's Sentence Heard in Baku Court

An appeal against Vagif Khachatryan's sentence has been heard in a Baku court. This has been reported by Azerbaijani media.
It is recalled that an appeal had previously been submitted against the sentence issued for Vagif Khachatryan.
The Baku Military Court had sentenced Vagif Khachatryan to 15 years in prison, with the first 5 years to be served in a standard prison and the remainder in a high-security facility.
Khachatryan is accused of allegedly creating a criminal group, which is said to have been involved in crimes against the residents of the Meshali village of the Khojaly region on December 21, 1991.
Throughout the court proceedings, Khachatryan has repeatedly stated that he has committed no crime.
