Julya
On the night of December 24, strong winds caused significant problems in the coastal city of Batumi. According to Sputnik Georgia, referencing the city's municipality, the winds have toppled trees and lampposts, torn off roofs from houses, and damaged infrastructure and bus stops.
In one area of the city, trees have fallen onto a parking lot, affecting several vehicles, and the roof of Batumi State University has also been stripped away. There have been no reports of injuries.
It has been reported that fallen trees have caused issues on the railway as well, resulting in several train services being delayed, with full restoration of traffic promised only by noon.
