Snow and Blizzard Expected: Weather Forecast in Armenia

The Hydro-Meteorological and Monitoring Center reports that on the 24th, in the afternoon and towards the evening, snow is expected in Shirak, Lori, the foothills of Tavush, Aragatsotn, Kotayk, Gegharkunik, Vayots Dzor, and the foothills of Syunik. Winds may increase in strength to 20-25 m/s in some areas, leading to blizzard conditions and black ice on the roads.

On the night of December 23, air temperatures will increase by 4-6 degrees, with a similar rise expected during the daytime on the 25th and 26th.

Precipitation is anticipated across most regions of the Republic of Armenia from December 23-24, with snow and blizzard conditions in mountainous areas and black ice on the roads. The daytime of December 25, along with the 26th and 27th, is expected to be dry.

The wind will be coming from the southwest at a speed of 2-5 m/s, with stronger winds of 20-25 m/s forecasted from December 23-25, and isolated gusts reaching 14-17 m/s on the 26th.

In Yerevan, on the 23rd and 24th, as well as the night of the 25th, precipitation is expected, with wet snow in higher elevations and rain mixed with snow in lower areas. The daytime of December 25, and the 26th and 27th, are forecasted to remain dry.

On December 23-24, wind gusts are expected to reach 17-20 m/s.

During the day on December 23, temperatures in the capital will be 5-7 degrees Celsius, decreasing to +3...+5 degrees in the evening hours.
