Vladikavkaz-Lars Road Closed for Large Trucks: What is the Reason?

The Ministry of Regional Development of Georgia has decided to close the Gudauri-Kobi highway for vehicles with trailers and semi-trailers due to snow and black ice. This was reported by the TASS news agency. The highway is part of the Military Road.

"Traffic for road transport with trailers and semi-trailers is prohibited on the Gudauri-Kobi section of the Mtskheta-Stepantsminda-Lars international highway due to snow and black ice," the agency stated.

The remaining sections of the Mtskheta-Stepantsminda-Lars road are open to all types of vehicles. Cars will be able to pass through without stopping and only through snow protection tunnels.
