Video: Company Tried to Destroy Other Products Instead of Chicken Breast, Fined 6,900,000 AMD
According to data obtained from the RA State Revenue Committee's Internal Security Department, employees from the Internal Security Division visited a facility designated for the destruction of 25.5 tons of frozen chicken breast, declared for "destruction under customs procedures" by a company engaged in meat imports in Armenia. They were present during the destruction process.
Since the imported batch of chicken breast did not receive authorization from the relevant authority for sale, it was declared for destruction under customs procedures. However, it turned out that the company replaced part of the products intended for destruction with animal bones and empty boxes. Moreover, it was also revealed that the weight of the products did not match the weight stated in the declaration. Following further monitoring, it became clear that out of 25 tons and 500 kg of chicken breast, 15 tons and 840 kg of the products designated for destruction were, in fact, not present.
Considering all these factors, the employees of the SRC prevented the destruction process on-site. An official report was compiled by the employees of the Customs Service Center of the SRC in Yerevan regarding the incident. The company was fined over 6,900,000 AMD for violations under Articles 308 and 316 of the RA law on Customs Regulation.
