Alarming Statistics: Wheat Production in Armenia Drops by Nearly 30% Compared to Last Year

The newspaper "Hraparak" reports that after the Security Council meeting chaired by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, it was officially announced that, among other issues, "matters related to ensuring food security in the Republic of Armenia" were also discussed.

Government circles are anxiously discussing the problem of food security, particularly the deficit related to grains. According to our sources, there is quite alarming data indicating that wheat production in Armenia has decreased by nearly 30% this year compared to last year, a situation attributed to the influx of cheap wheat imported from Russia.

Meanwhile, the state lacks a strategy and does not provide subsidies related to fuel or fertilizers, which has resulted in a significant reduction in the area of cultivated land.
