VIDEO: Youngsters Steal Exclusively 'VAZ' Brand Cars – Details
In recent days, various locations in the Aragatsotn and Armavir regions reported car thefts, specifically targeting 'VAZ' brand vehicles. This information was released by the Police.
On the night of November 28, a 'VAZ-2106' was stolen from the Akhnalich community in Armavir. On the night of December 8, a 'VAZ-2106' parked at the 20th km of the Yerevan-Ashtarak road was secretly stolen, along with the battery from another vehicle of the same owner, a 'VAZ-21065'. On the night of December 9, a 'VAZ-2107' was stolen from two garages in Sipan village by cutting through the iron door lock, causing the owner a loss of one and a half million drams. Additionally, the battery and player from a 'VAZ-2121' were taken from the second garage.
On the morning of December 11, around 5:30 AM, a 'VAZ-2121' was stolen from near a supermarket in Karbi community. On the night of December 13, a 'VAZ-2107' was taken from the backyard of a building in the Zvartnots neighborhood.
In response to these incidents, criminal proceedings have been initiated by the investigative departments of the Aragatsotn and Armavir regions, with relevant actions already taken.
On December 15, detectives from the Artashat division of the police, in cooperation with partners from the Main Directorate of Criminal Police, received operational information. It was established that the aforementioned thefts were committed by four young men: a 33-year-old resident of Vanadzor, a 20-year-old from Spitak, a 28-year-old from Aregashogh village in Lori Province, and a 22-year-old from Yerevan. It was also found that one of the stolen vehicles had been transported to a car wash area near the village of Bardrashen in the Ararat region, two others were hidden near a cemetery in the same village and in a ravine in the administrative territory of the village, while another vehicle had been dismantled, with parts hidden in one of the houses on Mashtots Street in Bardrashen.
On the same day, at 6:30 PM, through joint actions with the personnel of the Aragatsotn and Armavir regional departments of police, a 28-year-old resident of Arevashogh was found and arrested in the ravine in the administrative territory of Bardrashen village. Moments later, a resident from Vanadzor was also arrested on Mashtots Street in the same village and taken to the station. Both were presented to the Aragatsotn regional investigative department, interrogated, and subsequently arrested. Operational search measures are underway to locate the other two suspects.
The circumstances of the case are being clarified during the investigation.
