Saakashvili Launches New Political Initiative

During a court session on the "November 7 case" at the Tbilisi City Court, the defendant and former president Mikheil Saakashvili participated remotely from the "Viva Med" clinic, presenting a new political initiative, reports "Alik Media." According to the third president of Georgia, it is necessary to establish a committee for political activity and unity, which will unite 20-25 individuals. He considers the leaders of his founded opposition group, the largest "United National Movement," as part of this committee.

"We need a complete system of opposition, regardless of different opinions; without coordination, work cannot be done. Strength lies in unity. I am absolutely convinced of this," said Saakashvili.

According to him, the committee should be free from bureaucracy, a flexible structure of national consensus, and a political consultative body. "The committee will be a generator of new ideas, a place for new responses and dialogue with others through national agreement and consensus," he added.

Saakashvili also stated that the ruling "Georgian Dream" party aims to remain in power at all costs, but that Europe represents a change in power. He emphasized that the main tactic of the Georgian authorities will be intimidation.
