Emergency Stations to Be Deployed on Armenian Highways
Another working meeting was held at the Ministry of Emergency Situations, conducted by Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations and Director of the Rescue Service Kamo Tsutsulyan. This was reported by the Ministry's Rescue Service.
“Considering the fact that due to sharp weather changes, a number of emergencies such as blockages, traffic jams, and accidents have been recorded for years in the most difficult sections of the republic's highways, the director of the Rescue Service ordered to deploy temporary first aid stations in all regions, at designated locations as necessary. This aims to safely relocate vehicles during snowstorms and provide emergency assistance to citizens,” the report states.
The heads of the regional rescue departments of Syunik, Vayots Dzor, Aragatsotn, Shirak, and Gegharkunik informed the Rescue Service director that temporary first aid stations, equipped with means for the temporary accommodation of people and ensuring warmth and hot food during cold weather, are ready to be immediately deployed and operate around the clock if necessary.
The director of the Rescue Service instructed the heads of the regional rescue departments to transition to enhanced service. If necessary, new mobile stations should be added beyond the designated sections, equipped with off-road vehicles, and the responding forces should be doubled to ensure the passability of highways, provide more operational support to the population, and provide first aid, emphasizing the priority of ensuring the life and health of citizens,” the statement added.
