The World's Richest Billionaires: Musk Holds Steady

Forbes has updated its ranking of the world's richest billionaires. Here’s what has changed in the list over the past six months, according to Orda.kz.

At the end of 2023, Elon Musk once again occupies the top position among the world's wealthiest individuals. In April, he was displaced from this honorary position by Bernard Arnault, the President and CEO of Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy. However, in September, Musk regained his lead, while Arnault dropped to second place on the list.

This year, Forbes explained that 2022 brought significant risks to capital. This trend did not spare the 2,640 billionaires around the world. Even those at the top of the scale experienced some impoverishment. The fortunes of 25 leaders declined by $200 billion, totaling $2.1 trillion, down from the previous $2.3 trillion.

As a result, the top ten as of December 2023 looks like this:

• Elon Musk — $245.3 billion (down from $180 billion in April)
• Bernard Arnault — $191.3 billion (down from $211.8 billion in April)
• Jeff Bezos - $168.4 billion (up from $114 billion in April)
• Larry Ellison - $146.5 billion (up from $107 billion in April)
• Warren Buffett — $119.3 billion (up from $106 billion in April)
• Bill Gates — $117.6 billion (up from $104 billion in April)
• Mark Zuckerberg — $115.9 billion
• Steve Ballmer — $112.8 billion (up from $80.7 billion in April)
• Larry Page — $111.7 billion
• Sergey Brin — $107.3 billion

Half of the list remains static, while changes mainly occur in the first and last trio. In April, the 7th to 10th spots were held by Michael Bloomberg from the USA ($94.5 billion), who has been replaced by Mark Zuckerberg in December 2023. Carlos Slim Helu, Mexico's richest person, had a fortune estimated at $93 billion in April, but he is now out of the top ranks. Also, Mukesh Ambani from India, valued at $83.4 billion in April, has fallen off the top ten list. American Steve Ballmer has risen from the tenth to the eighth position.
