Petition Launched for Installing Cameras in Yerevan Kindergartens

A petition has been initiated for the installation of cameras in kindergartens in Yerevan. The author of the initiative is Anna Javakhyan, a former member of the Yerevan Council, coordinator of the 'Kindergarten and Children' group, and an educator.

She announced on her Facebook page that the only solution to the physical or psychological violence against children in kindergartens is to install cameras in all community kindergartens.

"We regularly read about physical or psychological violence against children in kindergartens, we react with fear, and after a few days we forget and return to our affairs until someone else dares to speak up. Many will not have the courage to speak out... I am tired of this closed loop and am looking for solutions. For me, the solution is to install cameras in all community kindergartens. Currently, there are public kindergartens both in Yerevan and in the regions that have cameras. I want to achieve the installation of cameras in all kindergartens," she wrote.
