Temporarily Imported Vehicles Can Be Cleared Through Customs in Yerevan, Vanadzor, and Sisian Starting Tomorrow

Light passenger vehicles, as part of the state support program, can be cleared through customs in Yerevan, Vanadzor, and Sisian starting from December 18, as announced by the State Revenue Committee of Armenia.

The State Revenue Committee informs that temporarily imported light passenger vehicles classified under the tariff code 8703 can be cleared starting December 18, 2023, at the following customs offices:

  • 1. Eastern Customs Division at 44 Moskovyan Street, Vanadzor
  • 2. Southern Customs Division at the 7th kilometer of the Sisian-Yerevan highway, Sisian
  • 3. Yerevan Customs Service Center at 10 Isakov Street, Yerevan

It is required that the applicant personally appear at the customs office with an identity document, present the temporarily imported vehicle, its technical passport, the customs entry orders prepared during the temporary importation, and other available documents related to the vehicle.

Furthermore, before appearing for customs clearance at the customs office located at 10 Isakov Street in Yerevan, it is necessary to initially position the vehicle in one of the following customs control zones:

  • 1) "Apaven Terminal" LLC, Araratyan 43 or Araratyan 95, Yerevan
  • 2) "Valensiya" LLC, Shiraki Street 43, Yerevan

It should be noted that according to the Armenian government’s decision 2076-N dated November 30, 2023, regarding the temporary importation of light passenger vehicles classified under tariff code 8703 by individuals from countries not members of the Eurasian Economic Union, provisions have been made for partial reimbursement of customs duties and taxes paid at a unified rate for citizens (beneficiaries) of Armenia or other EAEU member countries who have imported light passenger vehicles from third countries for temporary import prior to December 4, 2023, and will clear them in Armenia between December 5 and December 30. The reimbursement is set at 40% of the customs duties and taxes payable at a unified rate for vehicles less than 5 years old, and 70% for vehicles older than 5 years.

Significantly, beneficiaries will be required to pay 60% of the customs duties and taxes at a unified rate for vehicles less than 5 years old, and 30% for vehicles older than 5 years, while the remaining burden will essentially be borne by the state,” the announcement states.
