French Foreign Ministry Employee Killed in Gaza Strip

A French Foreign Ministry employee has been killed in the Gaza Strip by Israeli military gunfire, according to French news agency reports. The information was relayed by rbk.ru.

"The Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs has received the news of the death of one of its employees with great concern, who died from injuries sustained during an Israeli airstrike in Rafah, in the southern Gaza Strip," the statement said.

The diplomat had sought refuge in the home of a staff member from the French consulate, along with two colleagues and their families. On the evening of December 13, the house was shelled, resulting in the deaths of ten people, and the Foreign Ministry employee was severely wounded, later succumbing to those injuries.

France has demanded that the Israeli authorities clarify the circumstances of the shelling as soon as possible.
