This Is Ukraine's Victory: Zelensky

The countries of the European Union have decided to start negotiations with Ukraine and Moldova regarding the acceptance of these countries into the EU. This was announced by Charles Michel, the President of the European Council, on his microblog on X. Michel added that a decision was also made to grant candidate status to Georgia for EU membership.

The President of the European Council emphasized that the EU will begin negotiations with Bosnia and Herzegovina when this country meets all the necessary criteria for accession.

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, called the decision made at the Brussels summit a "victory" for his country and Europe. "This is Ukraine's victory and a victory for all of Europe. A victory that inspires, motivates, and strengthens," Zelensky wrote on the X social media platform (formerly Twitter).

The President of Moldova, Maia Sandu, also expressed her joy on X regarding the decision, stating that it brings benefits to the entire country. "Today Moldova opens a new chapter as it receives the green light for EU membership negotiations. Today we feel the warm embrace of Europe. Thank you for your support and belief that we can walk this path," she wrote.

It is noteworthy that Hungary and Slovakia have opposed the start of negotiations.
