Raw Materials for Dairy Products Exported to Russia Must Be Exclusively Armenian, Says AFS

The Head of the Food Safety Inspection Body of Armenia, Armen Hayrapetyan, and Sergey Dankvert, the Head of the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance of Russia (Rosselkhoznadzor), recently discussed the resumption of product supplies from Armenian dairy producers to Russia.

According to the AFS, the agreement on conducting joint supervisory measures resulting from their meeting was presented by the AFS head to representatives of Armenian dairy-producing and exporting companies invited to the inspection body.

Hayrapetyan reminded the producers of the Russian side's requirement that the raw materials for dairy products exported to Russia must be exclusively Armenian, urging them to assess the risks present in their productions, eliminate them, and align the entire production process with the requirements established by the EAEU legislation and technical regulations. He also emphasized the need to implement the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) system.

He assured that specialists from the inspection body are ready to provide the necessary professional support to resolve existing issues quickly.

“Only after the productions are confidently prepared will the timelines for conducting inspections with the relevant Russian authorities be clarified,” stated the AFS head.

Dairy producers noted that such meetings are an effective format for raising issues and obtaining clarifications regarding them.
