The US Assesses Turkey's Role in the Reconciliation of Baku and Yerevan

The United States welcomes Turkey's effective role in the normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, said US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller.

“This topic is part of all discussions between US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan. It is something they discuss on a regular basis. We welcome Turkey's effective role in this matter. We agree with the Turkish foreign minister's statement that peace is possible. The US supports direct negotiations between the two sides to achieve this,” Miller stated.
