Mercedes Hits Endangered Bezoar Goat, Killing It Instantly

On December 14, an extraordinary incident occurred in the Vayots Dzor province. Around 08:30, 36-year-old Hayk Khachatryan, a resident of the Syunik province, collided with a bezoar goat that appeared on the road while driving his Mercedes vehicle along the 117 km section of the Yerevan-Meghri highway, in the administrative area of the city of Yeghegnadzor, specifically at a location known as "Kari Tak." According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, the goat died instantly as a result of the impact.

Following the incident, the Vayots Dzor police department has commenced documentation regarding the event. The photojournalist reports that the bezoar goat is listed in the "Red Book" and hunting it is prohibited.
