Lightning Strikes School, Students Killed: France Presse

In the northeastern Democratic Republic of Congo, five children have died and 13 others have been injured after a lightning strike hit a school, according to France-Presse.

The lightning struck the building of the primary school in the village of Bukingi during a rainstorm around 9 AM, when children were cleaning the classroom. Five students—two girls and three boys—were reportedly killed on the spot, while 13 others have been hospitalized. The deceased and injured children range in age from 5 to 13 years.
