Baku Has Not Responded to Today's Meeting Invitation: Armenian Foreign Ministry
All members of the group of landlocked developing countries have received a joint invitation from the Armenian Foreign Minister and the UN Secretary-General's Deputy, but the Azerbaijani side has not responded to the invitation to participate. This was clarified by the spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry, Ani Badalyan, in response to a question from 'Azatutyun'.
The media outlet inquired whether Azerbaijan is also a member of this organization. Badalyan noted that this is one of the largest events ever organized in Armenia in conjunction with the UN, with participation from more than 30 foreign delegations, including representatives from landlocked developing and transit countries, as well as representatives from the region and neighboring countries of Armenia.
“The format of the event also allows for the possibility of making presentations via video message, which will ensure the remote participation of the Secretaries-General of the UN Economic and Social Councils for Africa, as well as the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific, the World Customs Organization, and the Secretary-General of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation,” Badalyan stated in an interview with the media outlet.
It is noteworthy that a ministerial meeting of landlocked developing countries took place today in Yerevan.
