Hripsime Khurshetdyan Brings Home Gold Medal After Relentless Struggle
Hripsime Khurshetdyan and Tatev Hakobyan performed successfully at the Doha Grand Prix.
Three Armenian athletes competed for medals in the women's weight category of up to 87 kg: Hripsime Khurshetdyan, Tatev Hakobyan, and Turkmenistan's Anamjan Rustamova.
In the snatch event, Tatev Hakobyan achieved first place with a lift of 107 kg, while Hripsime was just 1 kg behind, and the Turkmen athlete showcased a lift of 105 kg.
These same weightlifters continued to compete for medals in the clean and jerk event, lifting approximately the same weights. Here, Tatev Hakobyan was unable to succeed in her second and third attempts, leaving the lead to Khurshetdyan and Rustamova.
As a result, 36-year-old Hripsime Khurshetdyan emerged victorious in a fierce battle at the Doha Grand Prix.

Hripsime Khurshetdyan – 232 kg (106+126).
Anamjan Rustamova – 231 kg (105+126).
Tatev Hakobyan – 230 kg (107+123).
