In St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region, police conducted checks at the residences of Roma, resulting in over fifty individuals being fingerprinted. Nearly 20 of them faced administrative penalties, while 35 received notices to register for military service.

“During the weekend, police department employees, in cooperation with regional police, carried out preventive measures at the concentration points of representatives of the nomadic community. The main goal of the raid was preventive work aimed at preventing illegal activities,” reported the Ministry of Internal Affairs from St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region.

Initially, police conducted inspections in the village of Verkhniy Oselki in the Vsevolozhsk district of the Leningrad region based on received complaints, and then at a temporary hotel along Pulkovskoye Highway in St. Petersburg.
