Stepantsminda-Lars Road Closed Again for Trucks

The Rescue Service has reported that there is a closed road within the territory of Armenia.

The road from the "Amberd" high mountain meteorological station in the Aragatsotn region to Kar lake is closed. Snow is falling in the Vardenyats mountain pass, while fog is present in the highland areas of Syunik.

According to information received from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia's Emergency Management Department and the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations' North Ossetia Crisis Management Center, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is closed for trucks.

"The restrictions have been imposed due to snow and blizzards, while traffic is free for other types of transport," stated the Georgian Road Department in its announcement. Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires.
