Scandinavian Airlines Removes Nesquik from Menu in Support of Ukraine

Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) has removed the Nesquik chocolate drink from its in-flight menu due to the inclusion of its producer, Nestlé, on Ukraine's list of 'war sponsors.' This was reported by TV2, citing the airline.

In response to the inquiry from the television channel, SAS confirmed, 'We can confirm that we have excluded the Nesquik chocolate drink from our menu because of Nestlé being added to the Ukrainian list.'

As TV2 notes, this is not the first time that SAS has refused products from companies listed as 'war sponsors.' Previously, the airline excluded products from PepsiCo and Mondelez (Oreo, Alpen Gold, Milka brands) from its offerings.

Reuters reported that other companies, including Norwegian Air, SJ railway group, and the Strawberry hotel chain, have also joined the boycott against Mondelez.

In early November 2023, Ukraine included Swiss Nestlé in the list of 'international war sponsors.' Kiev argues that despite Nestlé's announcement to halt exports and imports to Russia, except for essential goods, Russian store shelves were 'overflowing with Nestlé products' as of February 2023.
