More than 20 people have died in Pakistan due to terrorism
Islamist militants today rammed a truck into a police station in northwestern Pakistan, resulting in the deaths of 24 individuals. This was reported by Reuters, citing two security personnel.
The attack, which involved the use of explosives and firearms, occurred in the Dera Ismail Khan area near the Afghan border. According to sources, the police station had been used by the Pakistani army as a base camp.
Several militants struck the border wall with the truck, after which others launched an armed attack. A representative from the state rescue service, Ayzaz Mehmood, reported that there are also injuries from the terrorist act, with several individuals in critical condition.
The responsibility for the attack has been claimed by the Pakistani group Tehrik-i-Jihad Pakistan (TJP), which issued a statement indicating that the assault was aimed against the Pakistani army.
