VIDEO: Massive Forest Fire in Chile; Suspect Arrested for Arson

A forest fire in the Valparaíso region of central Chile has injured at least seven people. This is reported by RIA Novosti, citing the BiobioChile radio station.

According to the source, the fire has engulfed approximately 500 hectares, damaging dozens of homes in the Limache commune. "During the firefighting efforts, two firefighters sustained burns, and at least seven people have been injured," the report states.

Authorities have already evacuated 300 people, and the fire has destroyed 20 homes, local media reports.

Additionally, the highway has been closed, and a 'red' alert has been declared in the Marga-Marga province.

It has also been reported that a suspect in the arson has been arrested.
