Drivers Dying from 'Disgraceful Blockade': 3500 Trucks at Poland-Ukraine Border
A line of 3,500 trucks has formed at the Poland-Ukraine border due to Polish carriers blocking checkpoint access. Negotiations between the parties have yet to yield results, according to a representative from Ukraine's State Border Guard Service.
Polish transporters, joined by farmers, have been blocking automotive border crossings for several weeks. They demand the reinstatement of the previously canceled permits for Ukrainian commercial carriers, excluding humanitarian assistance and supplies for the Ukrainian armed forces.
The queue of trucks on the Polish side starts 50 kilometers away from the border, where two Ukrainian drivers have already died.
On November 25, Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi appealed to the Polish authorities, demanding an end to the 'disgraceful blockade' with Ukraine. He stated that it is exceedingly costly for Ukrainians.
