Casualties Reported Due to Landslide in Turkey

Two people have died as a result of a landslide in the northern province of Zonguldak, Turkey. This was reported by the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD).
Heavy rain has been falling in Zonguldak for more than two days. “Two citizens were trapped in the rubble of their two-story house that collapsed in the Asma area of Zonguldak due to the landslide. Their bodies have been discovered as a result of search and rescue operations,” the statement said.
According to media reports, the victims were a mother and son. During the rescue operation, a second collapse occurred, trapping 21 rescuers under the rubble; however, they were later rescued successfully.
