“Almost two years into the conflict, Ukraine is facing enormous challenges, while Vladimir Putin’s strategy, which is aimed at waiting for Western allies to falter, seems to be working,” the article states.

The periodical notes that even Ukrainian officials admit that the long-awaited counteroffensive is unlikely to lead to a breakthrough. Meanwhile, Kyiv is also forced to persuade an increasingly skeptical West to continue supplying arms to Ukrainian forces, despite the obvious stalemate on the battlefield.
