Boats Provided by Russia's Ministry of Internal Affairs Relocated to Yerevan

Today, an event was held to launch the Water Patrol Service in the area adjacent to Lake Sevan, attended by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. This information was reported by the Government of Armenia.

In collaboration with the U.S. Department of Justice's ICITAP program, instructors from the United States conducted training sessions with the personnel of the Water Patrol Service in Lake Sevan. Additionally, theoretical training sessions were conducted by representatives from the Sevan National Park, the Ministry of Internal Affairs Rescue Service, the educational complex, and the patrol service of the Gegharkunik region.

This initiative follows extensive work carried out in collaboration with international partners, including competitions and assessments for hiring staff in the Water Patrol Service.

The boats provided by the Russian Federation's Ministry of Internal Affairs have been relocated to Yerevan, and training processes and module developments have been conducted in cooperation with American partners.

Essential remaining equipment, including boats, scooters, communication devices, and the purchase of service vehicles intended for transporting water technology, as well as the construction and furnishing of modular buildings, have been undertaken and will continue to be funded by the state budget.

Patrol officers who successfully passed the swimming skills assessment competition have undergone retraining at the Ministry of Internal Affairs educational complex, including land and water exercises. They have studied the legislation of the Water Patrol Service and completed physical and firearms training.
